The Brickyard Battalion (BYB) was founded in 2011 in an effort to bring professional soccer to Indianapolis. A few short years later, their goals were realized with the launch of Indy Pro Soccer, which became the Indy Eleven. I joined the BYB shortly before the team was launched and became a board member a few years later. The group had pretty good branding, but I had always wanted to clean up their BYB lockup. I started there and built a new primary mark that was enclosed in a shield shape similar to Indy Eleven’s, and featured 11 checkers at the top.
